Motivation &
Interest
This part of the website is dedicated to questions regarding my motivation to learn more about this topic and undergo this project, answering questions such as: Why did I choose to pursue this project? What interests me about this area? What previous experiences did I have with this topic or elements of this project? How does this connect with what I want to pursue in the future?
My motivation to create this project was not really centered in a want to improve my skills for a future career, these skills that I have improved over the course of this project have no true impact over my career, I do not wish to pursue a job in woodworking or furniture refurbishing, etc. However it is a useful skill that I wish to have in case I need to fix or build something myself.
I chose to pursue this topic as it interested me in a way that is different than many of the activities that we conduct at school and most probably in my future career, it is hands-on and physical, the building of my board game was physically tiring, which made it all the more worth it when it was finished. So what really interested me about this topic was its physical and tangible nature.
What interested me in this area was to be able to craft something out of something shapeless, and create something unique and singular that came solely out of myself.

Previous experiences in this area were limited to me, solely coming from my time in product design classes from MYP1 to MYP3, which is why improving my skills in this topic was an interesting and attractive point of view to me while deciding to do this.
